Here’s a peek into the epic production that was shooting White Gold’s first interactive rock video: Is It Me, Or Do You Love My Hair? It went down on a sound stage at The Culver Studios.
Some facts that give a sense of the size of the operation:
• Over 30 people on the set
• 1 day of pre light
• 2 (long) days of shooting
• 2 generally cooperative cats and their handlers
• 40 gallons of milk (at least)
At the helm of this rock-juggernaut: co-directors Tim Barber and Raf Hernandez.
And making sure everything stayed gorgeous, Damon Nelson, Design Lead.
Some scenes were shot on blue-screen, while others were shot on impressively real sets like this one.
We had a tight shooting schedule and a lot of scenes. Everyone worked fast and, amazingly, we got every shot except for one.
The prop department took a large number of everyday objects and created fantastic gold versions of them via secret prop guy magic.
Outlandish rock and roll attire was a huge part of bringing the band to life. Jessica our wardrobe mistress rocked it with:
• 5 costume changes for White Gold
• 4 times 2 costume changes for twins Skimberly and Wholena
The whole thing came together because of an amazing collaboration between Odopod, the massively talented folks from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, and the one and only White Gold. If you haven’t seen (and touched) the video, go check it out here.
