We broke the Britney Stories First, yo!
http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2007/activity.jhtml
Prominently placed front and center on the VMA homepage leading up to and during the show, the VMA Live Feed designed by Odopod pulls in feed items from all over the place and displays them real-time in one easy to use little Flash widget.
Click “Newer” and “Older” to go back or forward in time, checking out all kinds of important news - the larger the headline, the more important it is. I learned that Britney is headlining the VMA’s with her trainwreck (er, “comeback") performance… I was the FIRST in the know because the story dropped in at 10:01am right while I was watching the feed. Sweet.
Click on the day nav buttons up top which jump you to each respective day. Filter your feed by media type or fave artist! Detach the widget as a persistent pop-up to have in view while you do other things, like work!
As the VMA show day approached and the frenzy escalated, we saw exponentially more feed items in this thing. As the day nav suggests, the VMA Live Feed was hottest for JUST FIVE DAYS and now it is an archive of last night’s party.
A huge shout out to the Odopod dev team, who’s technical expertise and creativity were *crucial* in building this never-before live feed widget. It’s one of a kind, and built totally in Flash.
Thanks for watching!
