Amazing Art from our Sketch Application

Monday, October 06, 2008 by: allison

We’ve been spending some time working on improving one of our favorite internal projects, the Odopod Sketch Application.

In the improvement process, we were thrilled to uncover some amazing work from those of you illustrating with the tool. Take a look! It’s also worth visiting each individual sketch and watching as the illustrations unfold before your eyes.

We are continuing to evolve the app so please, continue to create your own work, browse the growing database of sketches, and watch for updates in the future.

Findable Flash

Thursday, May 08, 2008 by: David

We’ve posted a quick proof-of-concept for using HTML data rather than XML data for a Flash site. The goal is to make the data available to search engines without having to reformat the data for the Flash site. We are using static HTML pages, but it could have just as well been built out with a dynamic back-end.

Pepsi Air Guitar

My friend Santana Dardot from Sapien, a small design and web developing shop in Belo Horizonte just launched this super cool project for PEPSI Brasil which is basically the user controlling an instrument using a webcam. It is motion sensitive. The intensity of what you do in front of the camera will dictate the experience.

Pepsi Musica is in Portuguese but it’s worth to try.

Sapien was responsible to develop and implement the technology. Almap/BBDO’s role was creative direction and information architecture.

ActionScript 3 Loves Audio

As we start exploring the development workflow around the new Flex 2 framework, ActionScript3, and Flash Player 9’s capabilities, I decided to do a little exploring in my spare time and check out some of the new features of the language. What came of an afternoon’s tinkering was a basic audio spectrum analyzer. That’s right, Flash loves audio analysis now. There’s even some source code to play with.
